Also, hand burns in general should be more carefully treated since it is a part of your body that is in constant use (meaning that you can't really give it a rest, the motion is irritating your wound) and the skin on your hand is thinner than the rest of your body (little fat, straight to muscle kind of thing). It'll be okay now but you might feel your skin getting tighter as it heals, flexing your hand a few times a day can help with that. If you can tell me what I should do further to prevent scarring and to help heal the burned area, I would be so grateful! Thank you! Is this ok to put on my hand and let it there while sleeping? Instead I used on the burned area "Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion For Stretch Marks" containing Vitamin E, Collagen, Elastin and Shea Butter. My mom told me to stop doing that as it could lead to some serious tissue damage (do you guys think anything will happen since I did?). I immediately had it under cold water for about 5-8 mins and then use a small ice pack for about 5mins. Today I had been using the oven and accidentally burned my hand (meaty part close between my thumb and index finger, not a big burn but definitely noticeable).
